My Little Cosplay: Raven Sparkle

THE SECRET IS OUT: I AM A BRONY.

Something new, and something different! Full view please!

There's a nice backstory to this little piece- an oh-so generous and awesome friend got to fly halfway around the world, visit Disneyland for the first time, attend Megacon for the very first time, and meet Wil Wheaton and Tara Strong for the very first time. BEST. WEEKEND. EVER.

And being an opportunistic boyfriend and a big fan of Tara Strong, I hastily made this piece so that Addy can have Tara Strong sign it. This is actually my very first attempt at Pony fan art, and I'm glad it tuned out pretty OK. I tried two things: Kept it as close to the animation model while putting some dynamic touches, and make it look like she's actually cosplaying as Raven from Teen Titans. I've seen this drawn by lots of artists before but it's always with her hood on and her face in shadow. Here I tried to make her hair styled like Raven (she kept her highlights tho) and the costume even allows her cutie mark to be visible.
